    While working in coordination with the Sempervirens Fund, I have had the privilege of photographing some of their properties that are in the process of land conservation. Often these properties are attached to state parks or are eventually opened to the public.
  • Big Basin State Park - CZU Fire

    Big Basin State Park near Santa Cruz, California was devastated by the CZU Lighting Complex Fire in August and September of 2020. These images show the area around the Visitor Center and the Gift Shop. It also includes both the Mother of the Forest and the Father of the Forest redwood trees. This area is closed to the public until further notice by the California State Parks. Please do not try to visit these closed burned areas as they are often dangerous due to falling trees and branches.

    The San Vicente Redwoods is owned by the Sempervirens Fund and the Peninsula Open Space Trust. This 8000+ acre land is home to a wide variety of habitats and wildlife including coastal redwoods. This areas was recently hit hard by the CZU Lightning Complex Fire. Images will be added regularly to show the recovery of this beautiful forest. These images are created in partnership with both of these organizations and are available for license.
